I received an unsolicited offer on suv.us, for $500. I turned it down, and said $17,500 would be better.

Their offer then increased to $2,500, and I turned that down too.

This would pay for renewals for a year (or beer money for a few weeks), and I am wondering if I was too hasty on turning this down?

Though I am a .us fan and have advocated holding them until values rise, I would have to take $2500 for just about any of one of them today. SUV's may not even be the popular vehicle a few years from now if you hang on. Since you turned down $2500 I would go back and say you reconsidered and if they will go a couple hundred more and cover the escrow you will do it. If they say no, then go ahead and agree to the $2500. It is a nice name but don't fall so in love with it that you don't let it go for a really nice price like this.

It is hard to believe that it was a legitimate offer to start with. Regardless, $2,500 would be my objective on SUV.US in 2006. $2,500 would have achieved my 4 year goal today!

Tell them you do not really consider anything below $5,000 a serious offer. With some skill even if they don't increase, you shjould be able to settle for $4,500 and run man run away from the guzzling suv.

This is going to be this best offer you will ever get... if you don't sell now, you may end up selling it for $200 on Ebay, or worse.

Considering the fact that they contacted you, and jumped from $500 to $2500 so quickly, you could probably get more if you negotiate more.

I think the same. Ask for "serious maximum ofer" they can
afford.

Thanks for your input. I'll give them a few days to think about it, and them offer a $5k sale as long as they handle escrow.
