Dear all,

I received emails from a certain Brian Meredith, from TG Software, showing interest in one of my domain names and asking me to appraise my domain through his "trusted" company. I am well aware that the buyer pays all fees and that I was not dragged into this scam.

I found similar posting on NP and I thought that I should post this in DNF as well. Beware! Specially newbies.

I didn't post the email as there was a notice at the end of it saying it is confidential and all that. Do you think I should post it here so that everyone can see the scam-mail?

Or did I miss a golden chance?

cheers!

its an old scam..dont bother with it...they are looking to charge you $29 or whatever for a garbage appraisal.., usually it happens with names that you regged a month ago or so..

I got the same one from him last week. I played along for an email and told him my asking price. He replied with stating he would pay the asking price, but if I would consider an appraisal as he "heard" that is was common practice. I replied with: Thanks for wasting my time, but your email is a template for a old domain appraisal scam. Good luck scamming some domain newbies.

true,

and the guy was offering me US$ 98,000 for a crappy name. I knew that he was scamming once I read posts at NP and hence, said I wanted US$ 100,000 for the name

I haven't heard from the guy since!!!

I got one and I played along. Then I said you know what how about I give you all my names for free. And he replies that he must have an appraisal. Then he replies again saying he contacted his lawyer and that I better give him all my names for free or he will sue me lol

LOL, he needs an appraisal for free domains. Tell him to have his attorney give you a call so that you can refer him here. Then, I am sure several of us would love to sit in on a conference call with his attorney. I know I am in.

LOL. I doubt he does anything, considering he is using a fake name and company or if there not fake there not his. It would be funny if his lawyer called.

Yeah got one too. Told him "Take That Domain Appraisal Up Your ***"... the sorry SOB hasn't replied since. It is disgusting since they get the hopes of the newbies real high and then they have their dream of having hit the gold mine all shattered!
