I wasn't able to find out much about this company "https://secure.crucialdomains.net" have any of you heard of them?

I have received this spam email below about 13 times in the last 24 Hours.

What makes this a scam is that they were trying to make me make an offer of $997 to buy a domain I am already an owner of, which I freshly hand registered 4 days ago.

I made an offer for giggle and kicks for $150, and I won a domain I already own !LOL!

I am wondering how many other people are receiving this email with the opportunity to make an offer on my domain name, what happens if they actually made the purchase?

Do you think "https://secure.crucialdomains.net" would take the persons money?

Even though I own the name and it is locked?

I wonder how many other people this has happened to?

Anyone know who "Pat Kenedy" is?

Is "Pat Kenedy" a member here on DNforum?

Is there a legitimate business model here or is it a scam?

If there is a legitimate business model can you please explain this business model if you understand it?

Do you think this was just a mistake that I have received 13 emails in 24 hours?

AFAIK they taste domains (usually .com) then contact holders of alternate extensions. If no-one buys within 5 days they would drop the name so it could be available by the time you realize. What's not legitimate is spamming.
I know that webnamesolution also sells domains that they don't even own.

PS: on their site I see a link to
http://www.domainersedge.com/
so I suppose they are affiliated

I am familiar with that practice, and is why it doesn't fit.

I am the sole owner and inventor of this hand registration. The other extensions are available for sale and have never been registered.

I guess if this is a legit service there scrape script or software must really suck, so everyone beware.

I still wonder how it would have worked out if someone else that got this email would have purchased the name.

Have you ever heard of this company? Has anyone heard of this company?
