Hey all,

tomorrow is the general availability of .bid

please share what you think about those 2 gtlds why we should consider .bid over .auction and vice versa?

You shouldn't, they both have a different meaning. Choose the one which fits best for your business / needs :)

will same meaning but someone will standout and the other one will fail or be leftover if not both going to fail so it depends on their plan to market the gtld

Most of the new gTlD's are niche specific. You got the left side of the dot right then that's how they should be used. Numbers don't matter for the end-user anyway. The ones which are very broad in meaning like .club for example. I expect there will be alot more .club then there are .florist or .limo. Why ? Because that is reality unless suddenly there is a spike of florists and limo companies in the world where every child wants to be a florist or limo driver. I don't care about numbers, i do care about the left and right side of the dot.
Some exceptions exist, i don't see for example .rich getting used alot, so i don't think the registry is going to make much on that gtld.

I do think .auction might have more "natural" uses compared to .bid, perhaps .bid could be an alternative if word.auction is not available anymore.

gerry you are .com guy lol
Hardly. I am pretty much open to most extensions, have registered numerous new .domains, but I register those that I think mean something and say something. I stay away from jibberish .xyz and .crap

I don't think either will be successful. How many auction platforms are there? Not enough to make up for the registries initial investment. Doomed to fail.

Unfortunately all those new TLDs have a very narrow purpose, limiting what you can do with them, while the pool of potential end users is already super-tiny.

auction is better than bid, having said that, they both kinda suck.

The .bid you already have, canvas and loft, combined have a total of 0 searches. You could take they money you're spending on these, hop on Namejet and get some decent domains that actually have a chance of selling.

Look how the "ULTRA PREMIUM" .bid and .trade are going in SEDO auction which was launched yesterday. Not so good I suppose, let's see to the end...
