SORRY TO POST THIS HERE, BUT IT IS AN APPRAISAL QUOTE AS WELL.

I would like your comments, expectations about the domain market.

.com and .net used to be best picks, since everybody knows them. What I would like to know is, what do you think about other TLDs - .biz .info .us ? Where will they stand in about a year or two from now? Will they stick and gain reputation?

I am thinking about this, since ive been speculating lately alot, and have registered more than just few .biz .info and .us domains. It would be shame if my speculations would fall through. Especially for my awllet that is :)

THANKS!

I really like .US and .INFO but yes it is a gamble. Don't spend money you can't afford to lose. The real key will be whether or not you are registering good solid root words and terms. I think you will do fine if you are doing that. Mediocre names will fail in any extension.

I'm also guessing that the .info will be a big winner in a few years. My thoughts are that since it's the abbreviation for information, People will just accept .info as the logical extension to add to their keyword for specific information. Plus it works with sates, cities, organizations and forums like this one. I'm sure most of the great ones are gone, but the're still a few good ones left, I got one just a little while ago.

.info is more popular that .net or .org in Europe and is gaining on .com, expect that to diminish a little once .eu comes out.

Another area to consider: Multilingual domains are getting closer to full approval by the IETF, they are probably still a couple of years away from working in the web browsers and email programs but plug-ins to support multilingual will have widespread adoption in Asia by late next year.
