Still wont do much but cause a mass panic for a few months. Once the dust settles, all the U.S. will have done will have scared away a few rooms, caused a decent payment processor (FirePay) to leave our players alone, and just make Americans in general search for different online poker sites and use different methods to deposit on them. Nothing will change in the long-run.

Think so, have you check poker/gambling related clicks lately?

In my personal account, they are down more than 50%.

Maybe just me.

Been following this a bit, and it will be a HUGE blow to the Online Casino industry.

We will just have to see how this plays out from both political & programmer's sides.

They'll find a way around it. That i guarantee. You can't just wave goodbye to a revenue stream like that.
It will be done via payment credits/offshore casinos or maybe .mobi will be the loophole.
I don't know all the ins & outs, but you can be sure a number of lawyers are on high hourly rates looking for the loophole. When it's found , it will take a few more years to get another bill through. By that time you should have another nobrainer in the whitehouse. No doubt we'll have another twat in 10 downing street kissing his ass too.

My inbox has been pretty much flooded the past few days from various gaming affiliate programs - following suit and restricting US players. However, interestingly enough, some emails are saying they are only blocking certain states:

"Michigan, Illinois, Louisiana, Oregon, Wisconsin, Washington, Indiana, Nevada, New York, New Jersey and South Dakota"

Still the US isn't the only potential market for the gambling industry.

Unfortunately, however, most of the I guess near a million "anythingremotelytodowithgaming.com"s ASCIIs won't be worth 2 brass cents.

Whats to stop a site from refusing to pay big winners in USA, especially with a warning that USA residents cant play.
