Hi,

I sold...... wel I thought I sold a domain in Sedo, like one month ago. The domain is "DNMarketplace.com".
Days passed and the buyer never paid. Sedo told me the buyer said it was going to send the money soon, but it never happened.
Now, a month after, they cancelled the transaction and supposedly exposed the buyer data in the contract, so I can contact the buyer.

But the contract doesn't say too much about the buyer, just the name, zip code, city and country. I need the email and a phone number!

Anyway, isn't supposed that buyers need to enter at least some credit card information in order to place bids or buy domains?

$1,500 USD......

but that has nothing to do with the way Sedo handles the transaction... do you agree? :)

You cannot get more info at this point, it's unfortunate. Unless you're willing to press charges, in which case your lawyer would subpoena the info. Your best bet is to Google the info and try to locate the buyer, then contact them directly. I did that with one domain sale that failed, then sent that person an email and he claimed he had lost access to his email account etc. So eventually we repeated the process through Sedo and he paid for the domain.

It happened that the guy's name is very uncommon. I already found several references.
I'll send an email, just in case.

How about a thread to report Sedo non-payers?
Actual names (maybe) would be reported, not usernames though.

Sedo should have a rating system for buyers and sellers, where feedback could be left after a finished transaction. If a buyer would receive a certain amount of negative feedback their account would be closed and/or when starting an auction the seller could choose not to accept bids by a buyer who've received negative feedback for example the last three months.

BTW, I contacted this person and it responded it had some severe family problems.
We're now doing the transaction through EscrowDNS.com!

Sometimes, there's an explanation! :)

It was a good idea listening to Theo suggestion.

Same thing happened to me with a buyer from India for my domain PondiCherryTourism.com.
