Great idea for a poll. It will be interesting to check back on the results.

Oh yeah and "Buyers"... Please PM me. ;) :D

No, really, I think that it would be quite interesting to see who we're dealing with! I hope many will participate.

Most of us buy and sell, but you forgot to add that as an option. Oops.

No, I didn't forget that option, I intentionally left it out.

This way, a choice is forced. If there was a 50/50 choice, I think 90% of the people here would have chosen it because they THINK they are buyers as well as they are sellers.

The poll would have no value in that case.

I know most people over here would like to profile themselves as 50/50 guys (and gals) but in fact most of them are sellers. (When you buy a domainname for <$5 every now and then, I won't consider that a serious buyer.)

And you can't be only a seller, you have to buy to sell.

"A Seller, but I Buy a few every now and then"

How can you sell more than you buy? Supply has to meet or exceed demand.

Oh well, nice attempt at a poll :)

I think tino's "buyer" is someone who buys domains from another person in an auction or through an offer on a regular basis.

There are many sellers who never or rarely buy domain names that way. They get their inventory through drop services, off drop lists and by hand reg'ing. They are buyers but not in the way tino means. (I think lol)

Right on!

If you register names through your DN reseller account (e.g. Enom etc.) and (try to) sell them, your a SELLER in my opinion. The same goes for people that get thier names through DROP services or auctions. I see this all the time; the SELLERS are the ones that offer $1 to $10 for a domain name "just in case".
