I am currently a law student looking to learn about intellectual property and more specific, domain name law.

I found some good treatises but as you can see, they are quite expensive:

Can someone please recommend a good starting place to learning about domain name law?
Thank you
Yury

Don't waste your time with a book. You should read as many UDRP decisions as you can, and try to intern with a domain name attorney.

don't confuse WIPO or any of the made up reasoning used by panelists for UDRP decisions with real "Law"... they are not the same.

Thanks for the advice Brett, I just started law school as well, and am planning on going into IP as well. Haven't seen you around for a while, I think the last time I heard from you was over the phone. Send regards to Melissa.

Let's put it this way: unless someone secures an order from a court of...uh...
competent jurisdiction, a UDRP decision is binding on the sponsoring registrar.

Whereever that competent jurisdiction is, anyway.

OP is in NJ - there is a very good one in Philly (I think that is where he is). Maybe he'll read this thread and send a PM to the OP.

But - I'll also agree, skip on the books and read though WIPO decisions, also brush up on trademark law.
