Recently the new registry contracts allowing .org etc to increase the yearly cost have been in the spotlight at the forums. During the discussions some of us mentioned that later on .com will likely also request new contracts and increased renewal fees too.
Since I believe VeriSign does not manage .org (isn't that PIR?) does the article mean .com may also be increased as it sounds, is the article just worded poorly, or am I missing something?

"Under the terms of the agreement, negotiated between ICANN and VeriSign, VeriSign will continue to manage the .com registry until 2012. It also allows VeriSign to increase domain prices, which was a provision that many in the domain registry business opposed."
