Have you gotten this message yet?
Starting November 1st, you may notice two changes to the statistics visible in the Parking Reporting section of your account. We have made these changes so as to stay up-to-date with the domain industry standard.
1) Adjusted earnings: This change means that the âEarningsâ statistic shown in the Parking Reporting section for the current and previous day will be based on estimates. Within 48 hours, we will receive the actual earnings amount from our primary ad provider, Google, and after two business days we will make the necessary adjustments to the earnings shown in your account. This change only affects the âEarningsâ category. The entries in the âUniquesâ and âClicksâ categories will not be affected. This means that if you review the dayâs earnings in your statistics on November 1st, you will be viewing estimates. Starting November 3rd, you would then be able to review the real earnings (before spam) as of November 1st.
2) Taking into account the spam count in your earnings: When you review your daily parking earnings, starting November 1st, these figures may include spam that our primary ad provider Google recognizes on the go. You will not be able to see which specific domains are affected. The total spam attributed to one account will be deducted from your parking earnings on a monthly basis. You can see the deductions in the Parking Reports section, on the âPaymentsâ tab, in the âCorrectorâ column.
In recent years, Google has been continuously improving their success rate in fighting spam. Given these improvements and the already low spam rates in Sedoâs own network, we anticipate that this change will only affect a small number of domain names.
Our recommendation: Starting November 1st, whenever you review figures for specific domains, please bear in mind that:
1) The final data will be available after approximately 48 hours.
2) Unexpected increases in earnings for specific domains may be caused by spam. If this is the case, this spam will be deducted at the end of the month.
In September, we revamped our Domain Parking section with innovative statistics tools and a better-performing interface. By switching from estimated click revenue to actual earnings, we are taking another step towards enhancing our parking tools. Our product managers and engineers are continually working to improve our statistics and your earnings to ensure that we continue to live up to the recent award we received at TRAFFIC Ft. Lauderdale: âBest Overall Domain Solution.â
If you have any questions, your Account Manager is happy to help.
Kind regards,
Liesbeth Mack-de Boer
So, not only will the amount you see be 48 hours behind...the end of month total will also be adjusted.
Sedo, how about quit pulling on our middle leg.
If you wait 48 hours to make adjustments to the pennies earned, why is that not enough time to detect and filter the spam traffic?
And not only will the amounts we see on an ongoing basis not be a true reflection of the amount earned daily, but at the end of the month you are going to make further adjustments/deductions?
As for those domains getting spam, you will not be able to see which ones they are - you'll just have to take our word.
Lets start a poll...who believes these moves will result in increased earnings?
