Hi,

I read in another forum, in a small post, that we can LOOSE any .MOBI domain if left undeveloped. Seems that the registry can take it back with no refund.

Does anyone know if that is true?

If so, just parking those domains is enough to comply with those special .MOBI regulations?

Thanks for any clarification.

Current parking is not enought to comply with those regulation, due all parking I know are sending not-fully compliant code, even for .mobi. (Though, it does not mean those pages won't display, as well as, if I page display in the cellphone it does not mean that your page is 100% compliant)

The regulation is not about it the domain is developed or not, but if they are in complaint with their guidelines.

Great clarification fischermx. Appreciated.

So, comes another question: Which are the basic guidelines for .MOBI domains?

Thanks you all again.

I think the biggest thing is that the content is mobi compliant. If there is no content, I don't think that is a penalty.

Otherwise, you will get a warning that your site needs to be mobi compliant then you have 60 days or something to comply.

What I got there:

DotMobi names that are not brought back into compliance shall be place into a hold status which will prevent their resolution on the internet. The dotMobi names shall not be deleted from the registration system, but their name will be placed on hold until they are in compliance with the mandatory rules.

Good for all of us to know.

Good, yes that is what I understood...they will never take your domain off you, but will take your site down if it is not made compliant with 60 days when asked.
