I have always been a chatroom indulger
I started chatting in effnet IRC on unix prompt in 1994
..have been trying to start a chatroom since 1994 at times, without luck.
..having a fully active chat at all times on your own website is a great challenge/achievement.
This is why I think chatrooms.mobi for 1K+ was clearly the greatest steal in the recent Sedo .mobi auction.
Why?
Because in the future, I envision, in my lens, chatrooms circulating on the mobile phone.. maybe alongside current IM and text messaging crazes.. Imagine "Idling" on your mobile all days with your friends in a chatroom and when someone posts, everyone sees it!
1.) Text messaging.. widely used currently, and too expensive of a choice at this rate in the future, particularly with internet capabilities (then again why are all carriers still charging us so much still for phone calls when there are internet capabilities).. well most phones don't have internet yet.. could Google be somewhat rationalizing their mobile ad service net to mobile phones today by offering "free" future internet text messaging? Or another way to look at it is that could Google be rationalizing their ad service net on our phones for our future by offering us something "free", text messaging, today? http://www.linuxdevices.com/news/NS5441884477.html
But the speculated free phone minutes in this article would be neat.
2.) IM - IM Used to be hot on internet, how hot will it be on cell phones? But this is a difference I see with this venue as opposed to the chatroom.. IM is for people you know already.. it is a closed system.. not good for meeting NEW people..
3.) Chatrooms = Good for meeting NEW people and enhancing relationships with people you see there, again, who you naturally get to know better through the chatroom experience.. Ever want to call someone you just met but feel uncomfortable to bother them? Well just log on to the chatroom and pick up with people who want to be there.. expand your networking pie with chatrooms of people with bonded interests.. and this is an OPEN system (unlike IM and Text Messaging) where you can surpass your boundaries and meet new people.. thus I think it will be big.. just staying IDLE all day in the chatroom on your phone.. hoping for that longer life manufactured battery hehe! Marketing the domain name can give brighter prospects in terms of traffic/networking flow into your chatrooms - and you're the operator!

I am looking for a chatroom service/sofware that runs on your own .mobi domain, anyone know of any? Why not today! I know phone capabilities are limited.. but now is the time to be first.. in this hot field/trend
What do you think?
Kind Regards,
Yelo
