I used my last exchange to snap an unregistered domain name at cheapsnaps.
It is over 5 days and the name has still not been registered, even though it is still available.
Couple of days back I send a mail to support, but no response.

Any Idea, whether there is a support person at cheapsnaps.?

I believe that cheapsnaps.com was just sold to DNF owner Adam Dicker, so there may be a temporary problem while the business is changing hands. Adam also owns DomainSnaps.com (another SnapNames reseller). My recent experience with them has been very good with respect to support. I'm sure when the ownership transition is complete Adam will take care of your issue.

No, they don't have support. I don't know how to get a hold of CheapSnaps.com. Adam already saw my problem and didn't do anything about it, so either he can't do anything about it or doesn't want to do anything about it.

DomainSnaps.com doesn't seem to respond to e-mails either. I don't understand why these sites link to e-mail addresses if they're not going to respond to e-mails.

I believe all reported and known issues were resolved today.

Duke nailed it, the transition from me to Adam caused some
mail forwarding to get screwed up.

The transition is now complete. And all reported issues were
taken care of by the two sides.

I think most of you can confirm that all previous issues with
CheapSnaps were resolved very quickly. This will continue to
be the pattern.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and enjoy the service as it is back in
full swing (DR clients still qualify for the $39.99 SnapBack
deal).

Best Regards,
Luc L.

I went to renew a snap at CheapSnaps and I got this

"Error: (Server.NullPointerException)"

And, I have been getting that for a couple weeks.

Luc, what does that mean?

Maybe, someone should set up a snap service with a strong customer
service approach. Putting "u" the customer first.

Like uSnap.net (name available, if "you" are willing to meet the challenge.)

Luc -

The "renewals should be working Monday" notice has been up for over 3 months... any news on that?

Thanks
- Dale

It's monday night. And, I can not renew it.

Dale, it looks like you must be correct.

And, now. Domain Snaps doesn't work. Does everything DCG touch???

I guess we are will have to start using www.snapbacks.net

Until, someone buys Sponks' site and then turns it into ????

I had some problems getting the renewals to work.

I'll get it done by tonight, tomorrow at the latest. That's a
promise.

Sorry for the delay, but I've been mad busy.

Luc,

You are getting closer in making the renewals on CheapSnaps work.

When hitting the renewal button, it went to Paypal and accepted my money. And, I got notification from Paypal that it went thru.

But, it did not register back at your site.

I waited 3 hours. But, still nothing.

So, please go "bang or kick" the side of your server to see if that makes it work properly.

Good thing I didn't immediately need that snap!

Additionally, the Domain Snaps site will not open for me for a couple days. And, I tried a number of times today.

Sorry, but it's not ready yet.

I posted a message saying that it will be ready around 2Pm Central today.

I was hoping not too many people would use it, lol.

Give me about half an hour more and it'll be done. I'm working
on PayPal/Script security now, the final step.

I'll check out the issue with DomainSnaps, if you can, please
descibe exactly what's wrong there and the error you are
receiving.

Thanks,
Luc L.

I'm having same problem at DomainSnaps.com now. You type in the URL but it brings you to DNF instead.

Very strange. I just tested it with a snap and it works fine.

I'll check this out further.

Some other people were complaining about this in another thread a couple of days ago but when I checked it I had no problem accessing the site. Now, I have the same problem they did - DomainSnaps.com is redirecting visitors to DNF.

Luc,

The top of the page at CheapSnaps said that it would be up by 2pm oct. 7th. Today is the 8th.

As for Domain Snap. If you go to the site. It is forwarded to DNForum. And, not DomainSnap.com

Alright, renewals should now work for everyone.

Keep in mind that a subscription cannot extend for more than
24 months, so you're limited to one renewal (3 exchanges).

Best Regards,
Luc L.

I see two DNS configuration problems:

1. dns1.ispserver.cx says domainsnaps.com is 198.64.149.203 while dns2.ispserver.cx and dns3.ispserver.cx say domainsnaps.com is 65.61.162.201. domainsnaps.com at 198.64.149.203 is redirecting people to dnforum.com.
2. dns1.ispserver.cx, dns2.ispserver.cx, and dns3.ispserver.cx don't have address records for dns1.ispserver.cx, dns2.ispserver.cx, and dns3.ispserver.cx. This will cause intermittent problems with resolving for a small number of people. All three name servers must have all three address records.

I bet those issues are the source of the problems.
