We have received $300.000 offer for Checkpagerank(.)net
We used to have many offers before but $200.000 was maximum so now we are considering selling.

The website is making about $10.000 monthly(advertising+services)
Alexa rank=4.000 and about 100.000 monthly visitors

What do you think?

Thank you in advance,

That's really in 1000s (000) all those figures; $300K for checkpagerank.net and $10K per month in revenue ?

Impressive.

What are the operating costs ?

Any issues with the trademark (for Google) and patent (for Stanford U) on "PageRank" ?

Impressive numbers indeed!

Rob

My first thought would be going with the $300K offer (if it is for cash) ... thats 30x revenue, and personally, I think the PageRank obsession (and value as a metric) is fading fast.

That's not a domain name offer, that's a business offer (if legit). The name itself is worth zero, that is for sure (though if you closed down tomorrow your traffic would be worth something for a period of time). Obviously, you would know more about your business than somebody unrelated on a domain forum, and you definitely know your personal financial situation better than anonymous message board posters.

You are the seller, who supposedly got a 300K offer from a less knowledgable buyer (by definition, they have less knowledge than you about your business), so it is certain that you are in the driver's seat in this transaction.

You're lucky for one more reason: GoDaddy has held the .com in "suspension" for over a year due to apparently fake contact info, so there is no competition. The .net is #1 in Google. If you were offered $300k sell. That's a great price for a .net

Considering the niche, I would suggest you sell at $300k or counter a higher offer.

P.S then buy .com

hopefully thats a good choice, aslong as you can maintain 10k+ rev in 3 years (who know what page rank will be like then?) it wouldnt be worth it
