with the sale of CityofBerkeley.info at $1287 - is there much value in other cityof.info's

I found one that isn't reg'd yet - its an American city with a population of about 1 million, is it worth the reg?

Speaking for myself, I saw little risk in registering 10 names of heavily populated cityofxxxx.info domains. I've got Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Boston, San Diego, Orlando, Memphis, San Jose, Columbus and New York. Maybe a waste. Maybe not.

God, I hope it's not CityOfOklahomaCity.info :)

My first search for available CityOf.... just now, has produced a CityOf....COM which is still available. However, the .US version is taken. The city in question is in California and has about 40,000 people. I am not interested, and if someone is interested, plz - PM me, and you can race to register it if you happen to like it.

To answer your question, seven dollars is certainly not a major investment, but you have to realize that between (for example):

Dallas.com,
Dallas,net
Dallas.org
Dallas.us
Dallas.info
CityOfDallas.com
CityOfDallas.net
CityOfDallas.org
CityOfDallas.us
CityOfDallas.info

There will be only one "offfical" website (in a lot of cases not even one) and about two unofficial... The rest of such websites (and I am not even talking about undeveloped domains) will be meaningless, and will get lost in the clutter of competition offerings.

I guess, my point is that these types of names might still be bought by those silly, naive end user people, the ones who also might be purchasing THENames...
