I have been watching this for the past month.

It looks like it should cross the milestone of 50 million in about two weeks.
I realize that it is "just a number". However, it indicates that the industry
is still growing at a strong rate.

This number is the total of com, net, org, info and biz.

I heard that Adam is going to have an open bar on the day the number
reaches 50 million.

(Or, was I dreaming.) :-D

Because, it is a country code.

Otherwise, you would need to include .de, .ca, .in, etc.

imagine if there is about 500 million internet user ( just guessing ) and increasing

and it is rarely that people register only one name ..at least 2 or 3 or 1000s

and people will try to hold some domains for personal or business use whether these domains have value or not

so 500 million * 10 = 1 billion regsitered domains !

you should expect that to happen in the future

i wish i live to see

Since, the average is between 200,000 and 250,000 a week.

The 50 million threshold number should be crossed by the end of the week.

As of today,

* .COM .36,106,883
* .NET .. 5,654,910
* .ORG .. 3,515,014
* .INFO . 3,473,057
* .BIZ ... 1,137,584
* ....... 49,887,448

I know that Duke is also following this. So, we should be able to celebrate this event
real soon.

I wonder if Adam has ordered the "open bar" yet? :party:
