The long-expected .CN TLD names are being made available for registration for the very first time. For those who don;t know, CN is the top level domain for China and is targeted toward the Chinese and Chinese-American communities. For most of us domain junkies, it is also a great way to get a short memorable domain name that isn't available under .com. The domains are being opened up for registration next Sunday night. Judging from similar new openings all the really valuable names will be registered in the first few seconds with registrars around the world submitting requests as fast as they can.
It appears that registrars will auction their ability to grab those domain using cutting-edge technology, so if you dream of grabbing a real popular name you are better off placing a bid with a major registrar for this particular name you are eyeing.
Bids are accepted and start at $50. Dotster invites interested parties to bid at their site.
