I meant for real-time manual reg when it goes live, the best reg fee I can find is $50 for each .cn.

And this is for your reference, the reserved .cn names:

The CNNIC Registry has reserved certain names. These include:
· Country names, 3-letter and ISO3166
· Chinese Government organizations and leaders' names
· Names that are for National Security · Province and City names · Special telephone numbers. (001), etc.
· All gTLD's and some 2nd level spaces (biz.cn, kids.cn)
· Certain famous trademarks (about 350)
· Names labeled by the UN to promote world culture, heritage.
· Chinese Universities and Colleges
· News Media as approved by the National News Office

Some more bad news (www.internetters.com):

The CNNIC registry system will give priority to existing 3rd-level registrants. This would mean many unsuccessful applications for such domains as : cars.cn finance.cn travel.cn internet.cn mortgages.cn loans.cn etc (as registrants of the existing 3rd-level equivalents domains : cars.com.cn finance.com.cn travel.com.cn internet.com.cn mortgages.com.cn loans.com.cn etc. will be given priority).

According to the restrictions sex.cn would not be available as it is three letters, do I read that correctly?

That's the way I read it too. I was surprised to see many bids for three letter names. I guess either people didn't read up on it or we are misunderstanding the meaning of it.

Also, priority is given to names regged before a certain date and the registrants must respond to an email in a short time period. So, theoretically, you could win names of that caliber.
