A question about overture...

say the first keyword is very strong on overture
example: Chat Overture: 1.750,604

second keyword is also fairly strong
example: Directory Overture: 282,000

but the combination is not strong
example: Chat Directory 200

and assuming the two words go together and have some meaning.

Can anything be said about the combined word

ChatDirectory.com then ?

Is there a rule, or does combining strong words simply not work?

My theory is that two strong keywords go well with the search engines and so it does matter. But newbie that I am, I'm not sure.

So, help please! :))

Thanks!
CoolDot

p.s. and yes, I own ChatDirectory.com so be kind to the old heart of mine... :))

i think you are asking for domain appraisal

however 2 strong words combination works if they mean something

businessgarbage.com equals 0$

i am not sure of the domain you mentioned

Gotasale, thank you. So if I got what you are saying then

"yes, in principle it is good to have two strong keywords combined, but they better mean something, even if the combined keywords are not strong on Overture".

Did I get that right?

Thanks a lot for your help!

its all about type-ins....you have to ask yourself
"would someone type this in a URL?"

If not, other uncommon successful domains are higly developed and optimized for search engine hits...

hope this helps

wvspecialkvw, that makes sense to me.

So the value of a domain depends on
a) either if people instinctively type in the right name or if
b) the website is optimized for search engines and gets it's traffic from that

Thanks for the comment!

adding to this old thread on two dictionary names combined....

I've noticed when checking on singular and plurals of the same name (e.g., job & jobs) the plural seems to always draw a better position. Don't really understand why, but seems to be a fact (plus/minus the proverbial margin of error).

Just my dos centavos worth.

Sometimes Overture screws up what it returns- making plurals out of singulars and vice-versa. It will occasionally retun your search terms out of order!

If you search on Good-Dog-Food, sometimes it will return FoodGoodDog. It's wierd, but you have to use common sense as well- NO ONE would search on Food-Good-Dog, LOL!

More people search on "puppy" than on "puppies".

but as with many nouns, I think the plural version is of as much or more value.
cars.com - car.com, ads.com - ad.com.. its all about what sounds better for the purpose of the domains.
