It will be very interesting to see whether the $5000 bid will be shill or legit.

How do you tell?

And Are you suggesting Dotster ups the bids to make thier profits higher?

If not, to sign up they require CC info, how would you fake bid?

Sad as it may seem, I think this is the case with every auction
based drop catcher.

Just because they ask for a credit card doesn't mean someone
with a PayPal debit card and a $50+ balance can't place
$5k bids.

They did improve their system by putting in the
maximum bid amount, but if you personally request a
limit raise they will do it.

Scammers always find ways to cheat the system, and businesses
always find ways to make more money. I guess it's part of the
game...

The question is....if NameWinner gets it, and then the winning bidder doesn't have the funds to pay, or just doesn't pay....what happens to the name?

Namewinner would then put the domain up for auction at a later date. Anyone know who caught this one yet?

From what I understand Name Winner will sell to the next highest bidder. Is this correct?

I am really sick and tired of discussing these things. However, one thing is sure from my experience is that they generally do not give the name to the second highest winner and the name stays limbo for months. Same things happen again and again.
