Some good names dropped during this few days.
It looks NW working so well like a JUL 2001 (when I began to start use this service)

The market prices of the domain are not going up. However, competition awful and bidding price too high.
It is doubtful whether the bidder does payment after NW got it.
Some are certain to be a good domain. But....

*** 8th Mar 2003 ***

Afrika.com -> US$6,667
Caseworker.com -> US$6,246
Connexity.com -> US$7,872
Tampers.com -> US$1,499
Travails.com -> US$12,017
VirtualGames.com US$2,500

May be some more...

It looks NW got some other mid-class domains but also price is little high.

VacuumPump.com -> US$445
MosaicTile.com -> US$404
WorldCurrencies.com ->US$258
...etc

What do you think about ?

I am amazed at the bids. Wow! It looks like auction fever has hit some people. Either that or the domain market is going up and I am missing out.

Interesting facts Toho. Thank you.

IMO
Afrika.com -> US$6,667...very good price
WorldCurrencies.com ->US$258...excellent price

Agree the bid levels on the other names seem overboard. Thanks Toho for the info.

Hi, think and fizz.

Thank you for your reply.

I was stopping join this game for a half year.
I tried seriously this weekend. Actually the efficiency is bad.
Needless to say even other services used it.
SN, DW, NG, 007...

I knew.

1, It is difficult to obtain the quality list.
2, The time when it selects is bothersome.
3, Success rate is very low and price is high.
4, Big gun got most of top words.

It is more serious now, although even the old days were serious.

:)

Those prices make me shake in my boots. Am I missing something here?

Do these have some value?

Yeah, Chad.

Me too. Afrika.com & VirtualGames.com are nice domain.
Caseworker.com is so so.

But others, I do not know value.
BestGuide.com is much better than these, Chad. :)

The craziest thing about it is that bids that high mean that at least two people bid that amount. Some of the prices right now are way too much. Your list is just a small sample of the overbidding going on.

Well shill bidding is easy to do, you only need two participants

I’m not saying NM is guilty of unethical practice, but it is possible.

Especially when they control the accounts its not like any of the bidders own any of the domains like on eBay’s structure for example.

Those could be legit bids, granted very stupid and ignorant legit bids, but what can ya do?

Just sounds fishy to me.

Agreed. Some of those bid amounts are surprisingly high.

Be careful about pointing fingers at drop services though - or accusing them of wrong doing. It is more likely just domainers who don't know any better - or something along those lines.

True, fools and their money are soon parted.. why can't we just get those fools here :laugh: ..

the unfortunate thing is as soon as a fool comes to dnforum they no longer act like fools oh well.. best of luck to them :)

I don't want to point fingers but there are only so many stupid people to go around :)

thanks

Do you remember Owen, the guy who first start this thing up and has left? Maybe you can do a search and find out what he said
