"crude.org.uk"

"Crude" as in oil, or "crude" as in harsh or vulgar? I'll assume the former, but very unsure of how this could even work in the ".ORG.UK"!?!
Good Luck.

That's the beauty of the name crude. It can mean many things. .The .org.uk is probably going to take awhile to get more popular, but this name has a short 5 letter useful name. If there is anyone from the UK reading this, let me know your thoughts!

Thanks, Gary T

Gary - I thought I'd advised you to avoid .org.uk names. Lots of good names are available in this extension because hardly anyone ever uses it.

I am in this for the long term, so I will take my chances. If I don't sell it this year or next year, I don't really care. It is a gamble I know this. But if I sit back and wait for the .org.uk names to get popular, the name will be gone. Kinda like junk bonds! you buy real cheap and if they fly, you make great money. If they crash, you lose! It is simply a gamble. I think the odds are on my side.

Well, at least you understand the risks! I agree with Ed30 here though ... I don't believe the odds are on your side. Good Luck.

Personally I do not think that .org.uk domains will ever be worthwhile purchasing for speculative purposes. By their very nature they are only really used by non-profit organisations and for personal sites. Can't see you ever even getting an offer for this domain in the short, medium or long term.

If .org.uk was a horse there would be odds of 500-1 on it winning.

Regards
Martin

I honestly don't think you truely comprehend what you've written above. :) It comes across as some babble you've fired off to try to justify registering the domain name. :)

.co.uk is ten times more popular than .org.uk. Unlike .org, .org.uk isn't as well known and most people in the UK only really think of .co.uk for UK domain names (thank the BBC).

In reality it is only a fiver + VAT. However if you did it 50 or 100 times, it'd be rather more! However you'd have more chance of selling at least one and making some money. However for now, and the foreseable future, you are pretty much flogging a dead horse if you are registering within .org.uk for resale.

Ranked almost the same as .ca

You've taken two totally seperate things and equated them. In reality, registrations within .ca are completely unrelated to those within .org.uk and cannot be compared at all.

I think what you mean is you like the term. It may as well have been 'crude.ws' or 'crude.vc'.

Yup, I agree, develop it and it might gain some value, as-is I'd say not worth much.
