I wouldn't be surprised. Even American Express can't swallow a $112k purchase, they usually cap out at $100k.

If it's a wire, which it probably is, it'll take a few days (speaking from past experience).

Some of Pool's registrars are slow. I am still waiting for two names with SignatureDomains to be updated.

Ice - I know you are powered by HungryMan frozen dinners and Taco Bell (or their equivalent in Sweden ;-) ), but many of us are into cooking and fine dining. Culinary is a PERFECT word for cooking supplies and gourmet items.

Opening up a brick and mortar location would cost easily double the investment to startup. They should have no problem making up the cost.

I would like that to be the case.

And, I don't want to be a pessimist. But, you might want to keep that cork in the champagne until we have more success stories.

One anomaly does not a market make. How much WOULD you have been asking for it if you had it to sell? Even $10,000. sounds too high IMO. One would have had to have the RIGHT buyer and, let's just say, one was working with a shill. Well then, the sky WOULD be the limit!

As I mentioned in this thread the other day, The Culinary Institute would certainly be a viable candidate and price WOULD probably be no object!

True. But this is no big deal at Overture:

Searches done in June 2003
Count Search Term
4724 culinary

If it was "food," well now you're talkin':

Searches done in June 2003
Count Search Term
13630698 food

Or even "restaurant":

Searches done in June 2003
Count Search Term
367810 restaurant

(This has nothing to do with culinary but check the hits on this VERY LONG "location" domain:

Searches done in June 2003
Count Search Term
4291020 new york city new york

Ya can't tell me "dictionary" or length alone makes all the difference in the world!)

4291020 new york city new york is clearly a bug in Overture.

haha true. Actually, I know what culinary means, we have the same word in swedish (slightly different spelling), however, someone just payed over $110 000 for that adress, and I doubt it will be easy to just recover the costs, let alone make a nice profit

Culinary.com is worth about 2 Million US, we estimate - as it sits. Run the numbers, it’s a residual revenue prince. Two serious contenders battled for this name, and the quickest to the draw won. Neither showed his poker hand soon enough, and it came down to seconds. If more deep pockets with strong visions were sitting on the auction block, this domain would have taken flight.

December 1st, 2003 be prepared for an experience in Culinary you won't soon forget.

From humbling poor beginnings in a small town in WV, to large IT projects in Ohio... To real estate, to digital properties. This 29 year old cannot wait to enter the world of Culinary and help take this industry to a completely new level.

Who will join us?

Ritch

Looking forward to see what the outcome is..
