too much of anything is not goodwith vitamins, (especially D,E,K,A) you should always stick to the recommended daily allowance
I did come across a similar study to the one you mentioned btw, but it was not related to cancer. It said that intake of high doses of Vit. E for a prolonged period of time is associated with a higher risk of death - this is probably due to the fact that vitamin E (and the rest of the fat soluble vitamins - D,K,A) is toxic. Normal daily dietary intake is about 10IU, multivitamin pills usually contain somewhere around 30IU. The recommended daily allowance is 15IU. There are however pure vit E supplements that contain as much as 400 or even more IU. Taking such an overdose is indeed very dangerous for your health. Sticking to the recommended daily allowances as much as possible is the best you can do for yourself.
