Custom Content question

I was thinking with a couple of my exercise and diet related domains maybe something from Clickbank or an Amazon affiliate link along with a brief description of the product might be worthwhile to put in the custom content section.

Have any of you ever added something like an affiliate link to the custom content section? Is that even allowed or worthwhile to try?
