OK....

Let's just say thru a series of events - my pinkie toe got cut off. I take the necessary steps to insure it's preservation in good shape. Then I discover there are some people that would be interested in buying my severed pinkie toe - for whatever reasons. Would this be legal? Am I allowed to sell my own toe? Would this be considered a crime against humanity by selling my own body part? After all - it's MY toe.

What about eBay.

Could I sell my pinkie toe on eBay?

I see this situation as someone paying you to not have it re-attached.

If that toe was supposed to be removed by some higher power, you may be disturbing the universe by not accepting their offer.

From the faq...
Humans, the human body, or any human body parts may not be listed on eBay.
Bummer :D

I wonder how many times it happened that it required a special rule.

Hmmm....... very interesting Scoot! I will give that due consideration. Thank you for the reply and the thought that you obviously put in to it. :)

Bummer.

So Lats - I guess then - I would have to have a private auction for my pinkie toe instead. :)

Depends when the toe was removed!
Auction not practical as limited "lifespan" of the severed toe even when packed in ice.
As it's now 7 hours since the 1st post and assuming the post was made some time after the removal of the toe then limited time for transaction and delivery let alone transplantation - so might be talking "novelty" value only, which affects the price.
Assuming translantation is possible, was it a clean cut - ie surgically removed with a scalpel or torn off in an accident - makes a difference to "saleability" as will affect re-connection of nerve endings etc.
Any warranty - full usage of transplanted toe - usage without nerve re-growth etc?

nope but you do get as a bonus if you order now the remainder of the pickled gherkins held in the jar with the toe...

these make lovely snacks on their own or perhaps as an ideal accompanyment to a beer whilst watching the sports game of your choice.

act now and we will also send you an antique collection of toenail clippings from your new toe dating back to 1980. so theres no worry about making your own toenail collection incomplete by the addition of this new toe.

to buy have your credit card and address details ready then call
555-nicks-foot
thats

call NOW!!!

I think people are under-valuing the toe just to get it cheap.

Take it to where the average ma & pa would go to buy there goods. You will get more on the retail market.

I think that rule came about when people were selling their kidneys on eBay. There were quite a few of them..

Nick, I'm concerned - does everyone who comes near you lose their digits? First the gardener and now you.. Maybe you could contract to the Mafia? ;)
