If they ask you to get it appraised at a company of their choosing it is a scam.

Tell him 1k. Tell him you can negotiate on the price though. Anything could be a scam, but you have to take each thing as if its not and take chances. As for the appraisal scam, they will tell you they will buy the domain name at the price you request as long as you get it appraised at a certain appraisal company. The scumbag in turn owns the appraisal company, you purchase an appraisal and you dont hear from the guy anymore. Of course there are other scams, new and old... however take every offer that is recieved seriously. Make your mark high, if they are truely interested they will continue negotiating. If they dont respond, they would have most likely not followed though regardless of what pricing you requested.

i reckon hes going to look at my other domains and try and get them as a lot price including designer jewelry.tv
i think he wants that name.

if you read the emails between me and him i told him i wasnt desperate to sell, that i was willing to hold on to it for a year or so.
thats why i think hes got back in touch,
my thoughts though

You got greedy. Went from trying for $100 to $450 being no good. It happens to all of us. At least it's probably not a scam, since he didn't go for the $1K. Take the sale. Get one under your belt, move from being a collector to being an investor. I suggest you go back and tell him that you will take $550, just because you want to get some domain selling experience.

duckinla sorry i didnt offer if for 100. i only asked on appraisal section what it might be worth, and some guy said yes go for 100.
but the threads after that said no dont go for $100 go for $1k.
so i said to the buyer im after 1k in which he replied 450, to which i replied no but i still want 1k.
so its gone from me asking 1k to him offering 450.
so a week later hes coming back asking about other domains i have, which in my opinion is just hiding the fact that he still wants designerjewelry.tv.
regards
si

I think when Ashaw recommended that you ask $1,000, he didn't mean to stick with that price. I think it was intended to get a response like you got, $400-$500. But see what happens. Just be warned: Time and complications kill deals. Make them as quick and simple as possible.
