This deadbeat buyer and the companies that he is associated with entered into a purchase agreement with me for a mid xx,xxx amount in April stating they would make the payment to escrow.com by May 4th or pay a $50/day late fee. I reached out to him again in the middle of April to ensure everything was on track, he replied and said everything was good to go. May 3rd came with no contact...never a good sign. I called him the night of May 3rd and he said the accountant would be sending the funds to escrow.com...long story short...20 days later and nothing...also cannot provide a FED number that is carried with every wire transfer. I've had several people say that they've sent wires and then hide behind the "Australian wire" transfer excuse that it takes weeks and weeks for wires to be received, I've also had dozens of wires sent to me from Australia that arrived within a few business days. Don't be fooled by these people...they will answer the phone every time you call and assure you that they payment has been sent, I've also known several large deals where they actually followed through on the purchase though I know of even more canceled transactions where they have never paid. I recently went through the diagnosis of a medical condition which cost me several nights in the hospital and over $10,000 in medical bills so this would have helped. After repeated attempts to get a confirmation number or FED number I've finally given up and canceled the transaction.
Bottom line: Make them provide a 30-40% non-refundable down payment if they want to pay in the next few months.

Affairs of a company once associated with
Melbourne radio station 3AK were placed in
the hands of a liquidator last week.
Radio Australia Pty Ltd, associated with
Queensland-NSW media entrepreneur
Michael Norris, had a liquidator take over the
affairs of the company on Wednesday.
A notice of resolution winding up the
company was lodged on Wednesday withthe
Australian Securities and Investments
Commission.
Another Norris company, Media
Corporation Australia Pty Ltd, formerly
Midwest Radio Pty Ltd, has been in the hands
of external administrators, with final accounts
being presented earlier this year.
Norris has had an eventful nmedia life.
He started his career in Brisbane in the 1970s
with Radio 4IP.
In 1995 a company he controlled bought
Brisbaneâs lowest-rating radio station, 4BH.
In just over two years, Radio 4BH rose in the
ratings from Brisbane number ieght to number
radio station.
4BH was sold to APN News & Media, later
becoming part of the Southern Cross Radio
network, which has since formed part of the
Fairfax Radio group.
Norrisâs company bought the shareholding
of Jeff Chatfieldâs Advent Group in 3AK and
3MP, but was unable to secure a board seat
on the company now known as Pacific Star
Network.
Norris has had a number of corporate
calamities over past years.
He had aims to raise $10 million to fund a
new FM radio station on Queenslandâs
Sunshine Coast.
The Courier-Mail reported in 2006 that
âhis business empire started collapsing last
year and creditors have appointed receivers,
managers and/or liquidators to a complex web
of at least 10 inter-related companies, many
of which have changed names multiple times.
âAmong the casualties are such formerly
well-known Brisbane corporate fixtures as
MCA, Unitel Media Group and Black Ink
Agency.â
One report said debts of $12 million had
piled. Norris had a deeply-flawed expansion
plan, said the Courier-Mail.
â Disclosure: Michael Norris made unsolicited
contact with Local Media CEO Ash Long
last week, eager to purchase the Sydney
News business name and website.
