Low-mid $xx,xxx. With the high $xx,xxx sales of "coupon(s)", this sets a strong benchmark for a very directly similar domain, especially amidst an onslaught of new group buying sites (read "groupon wannabes").

Hint: see who owns "deals.ca", could be an easy end user sale for you.

Nice domain. RedFlagDeals.com owns the deals.ca. You can also sell it to TeamBuy.ca

I agree with Maxwell, over $10,000 up to mid xx,xxx level, unless it gets a lot of deal seeking traffic, in which case it could be more.

Deals and coupons are a hot market, and deal.ca is nice and short for mobile use (e.g.: deals on your smartphone).

If you owned deal.ca would you jump to sell it at $9500? I think an end user would love to buy it at that price, even some domainers would probably pay that.

im using a valuation based on exact search's - deal gets less than 10% of the volume as coupons.

what did coupons sell for again?

Based on exact search volume (using coupons,ca to compare) i would value at $6,086.42

don't get me wrong its a nice name. i just think the price is significantly going to vary depending on the buyer and what he intends to use it for.

IMO - here are the types of end users and what they can afford or are willing to spend:

1. Wishfull thinker - this guy may have a few ideas for a future project but nothing started. His budget per name $xx - $xxx
2. Junior Startup - Fresh out of school with ideas, lots of debt and living in their parents basement - Their budget $xxx - $x,xxx
3. Seriously Cheap - Group of guys with a few pooled dollars but don't see the value in a domain name - Their budget $xxx - $x,xxx
4. Ambitious - A few dollars of hard earned personal savings to spent on a site, name and seo - Their Budget Low-Mid $x,xxx
5. Traffic hunters - Existing Co.'s with revenue - just looking for additional traffic - Budget depends on the volume (exact search's)
6. Big Players - These guys have the money to burn, almost unlimited cash willling to pay top dollar for the name they want - Budget $xx,xxx - $x,xxx, xxx

There are big players with the bucks to spend but they are few in numbers - who knows when or if they will come around. if you don't need the money hold out as long as possible (i would)

If you need the money sell, take the money and enjoy life :)

NO way, unless it was a dotcom or a solid biz wants the name really badly. $3.2K and anything above that is a lucky shot.

In that case, bloodpressure is probably worth about 300 or so. Let me know if you are selling, its a lucky shot.

I saw a commercial on TV the other night for RDeals.ca - a Canada-wide site for city-by-city Deals.
I didn't remember the name, but had to Google it.

Seeing how they are spending $ on advertising, they could easily benefit from the stickiness of 'deal' vs. 'rdeals'. (I started by Googling 'sdeals', so close :D haha)

As for a valuation, I agree it's $10,000+ ...but how much +? ...that's I have no clue to. I don't have the background to appraise such a caliber of .ca

Best of luck and success in all your endeavours!

The keyword "deal" has so many different avenues and can be used in many industries. Poker, cars, insurance, coupons, auctions........and many more.

This is a great name with a niche in very profitable markets. I would have to value it at least low to mid $xx,xxx and beyond. Congrats, you have a winner.

Reseller $,$$$ mid to high

End user $$,$$$ low to mid (this obviously being that ultimate end user who has to have it situation, low is more likely)

And as a side note I have sold several, no dozens of 5 figure .ca names, I know what it takes in both markets.

I agree with the $10,000+ pricing. Do you have to be a Canadian citizen to purchase a .ca?

All the sale prices are listed at www.ExcellentDomains.ca under reported sales. I try to report any sales from the DnJournal on the day it enters my mailbox. Since I was the one that sold Coupon.ca I can vouch for the price reported. Escrow.com statements had to be sent to Ron Jackson so he could verify the sale personally.
