I received this message via PM this morning:

I am REALLY interested in your domain... but I need for you to copy and paste this tracker code in the footer of your site
-----------------------start code---------------

<a href="http://t.extreme-dm.com/?login=meka65z"
target="_top"><img src="http://t1.extreme-dm.com/i.gif"
name="EXim" border="0" height="1" width="1"
alt="eXTReMe Tracker"></img></a>
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript1.2"><!--
EXs=screen;EXw=EXs.width;navigator.appName!="Netscape"?
EXb=EXs.colorDepth:EXb=EXs.pixelDepth;//-->
</script><script type="text/javascript"><!--
var EXlogin='meka65z' // Login
var EXvsrv='s9' // VServer
navigator.javaEnabled()==1?EXjv="y":EXjv="n";
EXd=document;EXw?"":EXw="na";EXb?"":EXb="na";
EXd.write("<img src=\"http://e0.extreme-dm.com",
"/"+EXvsrv+".g?login="+EXlogin+"&amp;",
"jv="+EXjv+"&amp;j=y&amp;srw="+EXw+"&amp;srb="+EXb+"&amp;",
"l="+escape(EXd.referrer)+"\" height=1 width=1>");//-->
</script><noscript><img height="1" width="1" alt=""
src="http://e0.extreme-dm.com/s9.g?login=meka65z&amp;j=n&amp;jv=n"/>
</noscript>

I'm really getting tired of looking at posts for good domains, and see some newbie/gold member has posted a rediculously low offer. And I'm quite sure the above is some sort of scam...

Anyone else annoyed?

Just feeling curious here :)
the extreme tracking http://extremetracking.com/open?login=meka65z
shows a website that owns by you yourself
http://extremetracking.com/open?login=meka65z
which you are currently selling...

WOW, that is interesting, I assure you I did not set that up.

The PM came from: meka2003

Is it common pratice to be asked by a buyer to add stat (?) code to your site?

not that i know of, usually, a ss of AWStat or similar software is the way its done, but i guess if the deal goes really big, its a pretty open possibilty, personally, i havent done deals that are on that high a level.

I dont know how ppl think, but to my perspective, it is not a scam. as he or she cant do anything about it.
Extremetracking is a free public counter. if you search on google
http://www.google.com/search?source...=site:extremetracking.com+extremetracking.com
it return 204,000 user using extremetracking. You can even see their stats if you click on it. But what can you to to harm them? You cant do anything! thus, it wasnt a scam.
as you had try to sell your website for xxxx figure, ppl will tend to see your traffic is that worthed to be set at that price. Nothing special about that..

**Im not trying to cover him, but a few months back, some ppl are saying me 'aboutwhat.org is a scam' without knowing what did i do to harm them. I was really unhappy to be called that way. So, before you treat someone as a scam. try to think what he or she does to harm you.

Use some logic before using the word 'SCAM' or 'FISHY' dude .....
If you need to prove that you can hack my website with extremetracking code, tell me! i will provide for you.

You can't hack anyone with extremetracking code. I use it on a lot of my sites. They provide good free stats (without limits), which is why I like them. They've also been around for many many years. I'm sure that if they were a scam, something would've happened to them by now. But people are still continually using them.

Thanks for all the feedback. If the guy would of explained what the code was then I may have responded to him right away. There are also over 500 pages on that site, so I told him to make me a reasonable offer and if I like it I will add the code to my site...

I haven't heard back from him...

You shouldnt wait for him to explain. Instead, you should find out the truth before pointing someone as a 'SCAM'.
