How long is Redemption now?

There is a domain I wanted to get a snap on, but I think it should already be expired. It expired on April 10. Why does Whois say its still in Redemption?

It has always been and still is 31 days for com and net domains. It's still in redemption because 31 days have not yet passed.

The expiration date does not matter. The redemption period starts when the registrar deletes the domain, not when the domain expires.

Yes, RGP does not start right after expiry. Most registrars will have their own grace period of usually up to but less than 45 days (very often 30-40 days). If it's already in "redemption period" (status), look for "last updated" and add 30 days. Mark it on your calendar and check back to see if its status changes into "pending delete".
