I'm a newbie to domaining, and I have purchased quite a few domains that I want to try to sell. Everything I have read indicates that you can "push" a domain to a new owner as long as they have an account with the same registrar you used to purchase the domain.
However, I just got off the phone with Godaddy, and they said that I cannot transfer a domain to anyone until 60 days have passed since registration. They said not even to another Godaddy account. I asked the guy if he was sure, he said "let me double check", was gone for a minute, returned and said "yes you have to wait 60 days".
Is this a new rule? Has something changed?
If so, how could one even try to sell a domain during that time period? Or are you just forced to wait 60 days.
Thanks,
Update: Thanks to each of you who replied. I really appreciate it. So I called Godaddy back, and this time I used the magic words "Account change", and explained the exact same scenario as I did to the rep yesterday, and he said "of course, as long as it changes to another Godaddy account, you can change it immediately". He then said "let me double check" (lol), then he returned and said "yes that is correct".
