Almost that bad.

But wait... If any product category eventually goes by that name, or it is coined for a popular product... well... it might make it.

Good news and bad news...

There is actually such a thing, and those who are on a high protein / low calorie weight loss diet, know it.

Bad news is I don't see anyone typing that in. Develop it into a reseller of existing such products, and you could pull it off.

It is a nice concept, you'll just have to drag the critical mass to it which is less than an ideal starting point.

yeah the idea is to develop it into a micro-site with unique content & not just park it

There is a market for it, but it's such a narrow product that it has to be developed not only for chips, but also other healthy foods to generate any organic traffic.

Diet[better: Foods].com would be better as it serves all different diet food items. (5400 exact vs. 36).

I don't see any value in developing this domain unless you actually want to go through with the setup process. Rather, seek an end user who sells diet products and sell dietchips.com to redirect to their page on chips for sale. I think that would be the best solution.

As there is low competition on diet chips and low search volume, you may be able to rank high. However, with a CPC as high as 20 cents, is it worth your time to develop something that may only attract 10 users a month to with a 4% CTR? That barely breaks ROI on the domain renewal price yearly.

Factor in your time vs. income and I see that it’s a waste. Park & sell, if no sell drop it IMO.

On second thought, another development idea for this would be a play on words... "Chips" of course. You can develop the site to provide diet tips (lots of ebooks, etc. you can promote for that) and make it seem as if it's "tips".

DietTips/DietChips... It's doable.

Also it may have the same meaning, as to "chip in" means to provide money (though could be advice) for something for someone.

Good luck either route you take!
