Pardon my frankness, but what a slate ( https://elections.cira.ca/2008/finalslate/list/en ) of dangerous thinkers.
This candidate ( https://elections.cira.ca/2008/finalslate/show/757/en ) states:
"Specifically, registration of domain names in bulk by cybersquatters, typosquatters and âdomainersâ has negatively affected the overall quality of the information available on the Internet by, for example, (1) overwhelming search engines and decreasing the utility of search results; (2) registering so many short and descriptive domain names that few desirable domain names remain to be registered by people with legitimate and constructive projects in mind; and (3) creating an unfair burden on trade-mark holders to pay significant domain name dispute arbitration fees in order to purge the registry of illegitimately registered domain names which are being used in bad faith. The low cost of domain names makes it possible for domainers to profit from even a small amount of traffic across many websites.
This problem is most evident in the dot-com registry, but the amount of domaining in the dot-ca registry has been steadily increasing. I would like to see the dot-ca registry take steps to discourage domaining"
