Hello,

How long does it take for a site to be approved and added to the directory?

Between 1 months and 2 years...

DMOZ is losing much of its respect to do these horrible wait times and sometimes corrupt category editors...it's not nearly as great as it used to be.

We have one clients site (A national company over a 100 years old with 11 offices (i.e. not spammy)) which has been waiting for well over 2 years. May be they don't want to list it because alphabetically it will be top of the category.

One of the editors said it was in the wrong category and pushed the submission up a category level so it will probably never be listed

Make sure you pick the right category because moving it means the submission will be delayed even longer as they don't add it to the right category - they move it to the queue for the right category!

Submit it to the proper category and have a lot of patience. If you site is approved, good for you, if not then don't just rely on DMOZ. Look for other high PR free and paid directories to submit.
