Have you been accused of cybersquatting just because you have more than 10 names? I have... :-(

Just tell the accuser that Microsoft, AOL, etc. all have more than 10 domains too.

My favorite is when a domain drops that they *forgot* to renew and I get it, they contact me and call me a *cybersquatting*. Needless to say, my desire to help them recover their domain flatlines at that point...costing them much more in *recovery fees*.

Didn't their mother teach them that being nice yields more positive results?

If people feel this way I would challenge them to take it up with the courts rather than slandering you into selling a domain or naming a price for a domain you are "developing" and registered first.

I use to try to work with some of these people. However, they figure it is
worth it to me to make $ 20 over my cost.

Just two weeks ago, I picked up a 4 letter domain. Apparently, a club owned it before.
They made a big deal that someone at the club left. And, the club never changed
the authorized email address.

They called a number of times about it. I was willing to sell it to them for $ 200.
They called me a number of nasty names because they thought I was
robbing them. :bandit:

Then, they told me I was breaking the law. etc, etc.

That is why I avoid offering to sell the name back to the former owner after
they contact me. I just tell them that it is not for sale

I don't need the grief.

Well said.

You can never be accused of "bad faith" this route. :-D

What's comical is that many times the accuser will own zillions of domains too, and is basically upset they missed some domains they like along the way ... so they try all sorts of nonsense instead of just trying to work out a fair deal.

I have been accused of "squatting" generic domain names and was asked to handover the domain for the "well being of the society" as they would put it to better use than me. :)

Same here. I just ignore them since i have no intention to sell back to them.
