Would the majority be happy if they could use their dnf$ to register domains?

ie, spend 700 DNF$ and you can register a domain.

comments positive and negative welcome.

People will be able to apply existing dnf$ if we go this route.

People that post useless 'me too' crap to gain extra dnf$ will have their dnf$ accounts frozen so people still post valid things.

I personally think it's a good idea. Let us get some good use out of the DNF.

I made a recent post wishing to use my DNBucks to buy domains from other members. A few posted names they would trade for DN$, however, none were the type of quality I would have been willing too shell out my earned DN$ for... and I would gladly ante up $700 to get an unregistered name of choice..
by far it's a great plan!

take a look at *************
they are overrun with kids wanting a free domain

unless you make it private i think it will mean the downfall of dnforum if its not taken care of when they find out

Valid Point DotLeader,

But the way to cut that nonsense from the git-go is to simply have this feature for PAYING members.. not many "kids" are going to fork over $50 to join DNF and stil have to make a ton of posts just for a reg thats costs .. $7 ..

I think it is just an added incentive to participate instead of sitting onthe sidelines.. just a lvery small reward for participating I believe is the object

A fine idea I suppose... but do people really need help buying $7 domains?

me too :)

Its a fine idea if you ask me.....I would certainly spend my DNF$ on a reg or two. You would just have to make sure there was a good system of reging and then making sure the names are all in the correct accounts

An alternate idea would be.

Use 1,500 DNF towards a $ 15.00 reduction in renewal of membership. And, the max. amount to be applied would be
1,500 DNF.

In that way active members are rewarded. But, over active
members do not benefit more than active members.

I say Platinum members should stay platinum.... I dont like the idea of having to pay another $50 - Personally I think the board would take a huge hit if you made people pay again, because many would never come back.

We *might* think about membership upgrade (from Gold to Platinum) with DNF$; but for Platinum renewal, it's still more than 6 months away even for the earliest sign-up's and I won't speculate on that now.

I agree with making it available to the paid membership only. Just to avoid the kids. We have seven of our own and I want someplce that I can hide out.
