I still think someone should build a system to rate domain buys (no time on my side)...some great buys this week IMO.

BusinessAdvisors.com ($9,420)
OutdoorPlants.com $4,399
movietickets.net $3,500
firedepartment.org $1,500
divingequipment.com $4,300
schoolsystems.com $3,177
sleepsound.com $2,300 (if you can't sell this to a sleep doctor or sleep center or pharma company for $10,000+ you shouldn't be in the business)

And last but not least...
Artichoke.com - $26,000. This is a LOT of money (and I wouldn’t have paid that much myself), but the more I say the name out loud the more I love it. This name has a ton of branding potential – an unbelievably memorable and cool sounding name.

butchery.com caught my eye at $2,500 - not a big search word, but I was in the meat trade for 13 years, and reckon thats a bargain.

It is when you start looking through the sales it is the $x,xxx - $xx,xxx that are of real interest to the majority of members on this forum as this is what can realistically be expected by many of us for the good domains we hold (we all of course though hope to get the big sales). Rating domain sales as mentioned by the OP though would be notoriously difficult because we all have varying views on values, I have turned down many $x,xxx for some of my domain names because I value them higher and yet on here they have attracted appraisals of $x-$xx. How could I or anyone rate domains then?

At the moment we have a good monitoring system that is updated weekly by the DNJournal, I personally do not think that any contrived system could do better than actually record the state of the market than this.

Just my 2 cents.
