I found a place to get some fireworks cheap, fountains mostly plus poppers, and some blooms and got some for my 13 year kid.

Boy real M-80's was the main stay when I was a teen, firecreakers was though of as wimpy, even though a kid got high and took his hand off with one we known.

Anyway we think of the wimpy stuff they have today and look the other way, after seeing the crazy prices they want for them. But my kid never seen the real fireworks like us older people have, and I thought may be she may love the wimpy stuff.

Of course I will not tell her they are wimpy, so I'm wondering if I should get her some more of the stuff. Since it's pretty cheap where I got it right now, once they sell out they will not be so cheap again.

So do younger kids like the fireworks, they got now a days ???

P/S I remember when I was her age I was drunk, and I was holding a roman candle for the first time. My dad turned it away from me just in time, I had it pointed at my self like a dummy. :)

With kids - the bigger the better but anything is enjoyable. I'm sure you can still get M-80s if not, make one yourself. ;)

I'll have to get some more fireworks while they are cheap then, the 4th is not all that far away. I should stock up on them now, I look at some prices online and they are not cheap by any means.

Its only a matter of time before carbon dioxide lunatics and the nanny state end private use of fireworks by cap and trade pyramid schemes or outright prohibition. Enjoy the good times, with adult supervision, while they last.

They won't be prohibited, and fireworks don't actually produce much CO2 on explosion... although I'm sure there's plenty in the production process, particularly refining the salts needed to colour the explosion.

Call me old fashioned, but we don't allow our kids to handle fireworks... Why run the risk of them getting hurt or something burning down? Besides, it's so much better to see a fireworks show than to have a little one of your own, it doesn't compare.
