I have an email at yahoo, checkout @ ymail.com and I don't remember why I registered it along time ago, or maybe I even purhcased it, but I wanted to know if anyone thinks I could sell it.

This is not an advertisement, I am just curious, and I didn't want this email out there for the public, becuase it isn't abused, and doesn't get any mail right now.

Let me know what you guys think?

Somebody had registered the name of the new pope at hotmail.com
I doubt there are many takers.

I think some email addresses could be valuable such as those with a name of a city or place. I suspect there are people who would pay to be recognized as being from a particular area or place.

There may also be those who would pay to be associated with a particular activity or product.

Hey, come to think of it, this could be a lucrative business for domainers who own the right names. Why couldn't they rent out the rights to an email address.....maybe they already do???

IMO a city would much better spend their money with a good domain and then get whatever email addresses they want ([email protected], etc..).

To me, email addresses, especially from free ones, just seem less professional (and this is coming form a guy who uses gMail?).

Email accounts would have little to no value, other than nostalgia but some people have been known to do well with a good domain and selling email accounts from that.

Check the TOS before thinking of selling.

It was just a thought. and their terms of services does state it
NO COMMERCIAL REUSE OF YAHOO! SERVICES
You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, trade, resell or exploit for any commercial purposes, any portion or use of, or access to, the Yahoo! Services (including Content, advertisements, Software and your Yahoo! ID).

I should have read that, but I really didn't take the time, since I am just learning.
and thanks for all the replys :)
