Is it essential to have a "do it my way or $%&* off" attitude as a boss in the business world? Why are so many bosses control freaks in the workplace? One would think the number 1 finely tuned skill for any boss or CEO should be the ability to keep a cool head when the storm hits.
I've heard Steve Jobs doesn't shy away from roasting his engineers after they've labored for really long stretches. And if Paul Allen can be believed (and I do believe him), in his book Idea Man he talks about how mentally combative and pressure inducing Bill Gates can be over matters that could have been resolved without conflict. And the list goes on from household names like Larry Ellison and Donald Trump to perhaps the owner of the auto dealership in your town or your boss at work.
Does your boss keep a cool head? And if you are your own boss do you keep a cool head when the sky falls?
