Do you own a gun(s)? What kind(s) of? Do you carry it often? Have you ever had to use it in any kind of situation, other than shooting range.
:laser:
This goes mainly for guys living in states, but eastern and europeans are also welcome. Just curious. :upset:

Yeah. I lived in the USA for a few years, 1987 - 1990. I had an RAF .38 and fired it in anger. Just got lucky. Blew my closed window out. Guns suck.

Own Savage, Marlin, Springfield and Mossberg Rifles. Benelli, Stoeger, Beretta 12 and 20 gauge Shotguns. Ruger handguns, mostly 9mm.

I was a marksman in the military. Enjoy competitive target shooting although I am not as good as I used to be. Not finding enough time. But going to range with group of buds and pros on Monday morning. These guys are so good they make me better. One is a competition shooter for 1000 yards.

I do not carry any although I am licensed to carry concealed weapons. But I may start carrying them. There is a Latino gang initiation going on in the area where they stop and ask for directions and then they shoot you. Google MS13.

Have I ever used them? Civilian life...no. Military...I am a Vietnam Era vet stationed in Southeast Asia. Use your imagination.

Yes, but we only fire them in the air in New Orleans on New Year's Eve. That is why city workers there must wear hardhats at midnight...

My husband owns several, although I'm not a gun person so I couldn't tell you what they were. We did practice shooting not too long ago and I shot my first hand gun.

Gun owner's wife + domainer + woman = DANGEROUS!!

Something similar is occurring in Greensboro, North Carolina in which they pull alongside and fire into the car. We have a very popular mall that's been around for decades, but is considered "too risky" to visit due to parking lot shootings. Add home invasions and the limited availability of law enforcement. There is no option but to own self-defense weapons. It shouldn't even be a topic of controversy.

An article in the local news was quite favorable about the increase in gun ownership and even the permits to carry concealed. Examples were given of citizens defending themselves and saving their own lives and the lives of others. Law abiding people are getting fed up.

The problem is not so much the availability of guns as it is the unavailability of responsible parents and a culture that increasingly lacks a moral center. I'll get off the soapbox now.

Agreed...I love quoting myself:

Freedom and Liberty through superior fire-power.

add "Safety" to that...remember, guns are what gave us a free country and keep it that way...and guns are what save your a$$ when sh*t hits the fan.

I had no idea you were in NC. This is exactly the area I am referring to...Greensboro and now High Point. I am outside of Winston.

The Greensboro police and Sheriffs department are downplaying this as to not cause panic. My wife works at Baptist/Bowman Grey and all employees (about 18,000) received emails cautioning them to not stop, not roll down windows, and to be alert.

It will only be a matter of time before this spreads to Winston. Home invasions are also rampant. Drugs and gang related crime are skyrocketing around here. I travel routinely on Rt.52 and I-40.

Like the saying goes;

I would rather have one than not need it rather than need it and not have it.

A classic. Check your package!

I'm a horrible shot so I don't carry a gun.

I have dogs that are protection trained and I sleep with a katana under my bed (sharpened, of course) plus I know which swords on display in my house are sharp.

I live in the ghetto. :)

I'm not crazy about it but it's the only place in this area we could afford.

That's where a 15 round clip comes in handy. ;)

I went to a gun club once w/ my father in law. I fired an entire clip w/ a 22 pistol at a target about 30 feet away. I didn't hit the target once.
