notice on their site!
----------------------------------

NOTICE TO ALL DODORA RESELLERS AND CUSTOMERS
Hi all,

The operations of Registrar Dodora have been frozen.
A Court Receiver, Mr Michael Bernstein, has been appointed in order to fulfill a judgement against Dodora in Cause No. CC-03-3182-E in County Court at Law Number Five, Dallas County, Texas, USA.

Mr Michael Bernstein has had to take over the control of Dodora. He has partnered with Directi and LogicBoxes to enable seamless transition and management of the existing Resellers, Customers and Domain Names of Dodora. Currently only the .com/.net Domains have been transitioned over to our System.

This migration experience is going to inconvenience many of you. It is not going to be a straightforward process. All of you have been conducting your business and now suddenly you will need to change your business processes due to this transition. We have spent the last 2 weeks in planning and structuring this in a fashion so as to minimise the inconvenience to all of you. We have pre-created all your accounts and pre-created all your Customers. However this import process cannot be 100% accurate.

We will have missed out on some domains or some accounts. We will have imported some information that is inaccurate or incorrect. We do not have direct access to be able to obtain this information. We have had to work on clever work arounds. However we do believe we have done our best given the short timeframes and the current situation.

We have also created a 24/7 support cell to assist you with the migration process to the Directi systems. Directi and LogicBoxes have always maintained superior support and services to its existing base of over 10,000 Resellers worldwide. Our Reseller Management system has been heralded as the best one in the market.

We will be contacting each one of you and working with you closely to assist you with a complete migration of your business to us.

Thanks

Yours sincereley

I made the very wise decision of transfering a very important domain to Enom which I got at DILLDORA through Snapnames. I am doing the same with all my other names at other registrars even if they are not near renewal (domainmonkeys, pool registrars, etc). Take heed now and do the same if you value some of your internet sites dearly.

I am somehow happy that Directi took over, atleast i know Directi knows how to maintain business unlike that of Unified Names.
Its also weird that Unified Names bought that Dodora registrar but failed to fully capitalize it for their RegisterFly website.

Dodora went defunct due to financial and legal issues and the U.S. Government delegated management of defunct Dodora to Directi.com as they felt Directi.com could provide best for these customers.

Because they are bankrupt I would assume you will not get your funds.

I hereby coin a new term when dealing with bad/unresponsive registrars:

"I suggest that you make the updates to my domain as requested within 24 hours, or I WILL DODORA you!"

If bankruptcy really the reason you can expect not to get your fund back... and for $75 its easier to let it go than to give yourself a heartache... not worth your time IMHO...

I don't really get what happened.

Dodora had once entered into a contract with a software developer in Texas. Not only did they breach the contract, but they failed to appear when they were sued for the breach. The contract contained a fairly hefty "liquidated damages" clause - i.e. a provision that sets a fixed value for any breach.

The software developer obtained a default judgment in Texas, and Dodora has been attempting to dodge execution of that judgment for some time. As RMF stated above, it was only a matter of time.

We used to call dodora "dodo" on the forum ... they were run by knuckleheads that spammed the forum with nonsense.
