Does Anyone Know Of A Good Auction Platform?

One of my friends is looking to start an auction website and asked for some help. I started researching premade scripts but found very little information. I would love to hear from anyone who has some experience in this department.

You can find plenty of free PHP Auction Scripts on the web and do your own customization, but if you are looking for something ready out the box, I like Auction Worx, but it's .Net... Can't really speak for other commercial solutions...

As far as cheap/free solutions, I used "PHP Auction Script Probid" before and it had a lot of features built in, but needs a lot of work. I think I paid like $3 on eBay for it...
