I am still learning, but feel that I’m at a point where I need to have a domain selling presence on the web. Or, at a minimum a professional email address to respond to offers on my domains. I have decided on the term Boa as in Boa Constrictor. I picked up these names and would like your thoughts on the names variations before I start development of the site.

1. BoaDomains*.*com
2. DomainBoa*.*com
3. DNBoa*.*com
4. BoaWebsites*.*com

Looking to simply use sales@xxx for the email or should I be more personable with bob@xxx

Look forward to your thoughts as I get myself deeper and deeper into this crazy business.

I guess "boa" is as good a term as any other that's available to register, so it's up to you if it's used to brand your site.

for the email address, either or both can be used, depending on whether the mail is general or specific

Just remember, Bank Of America uses the same three letters as a shorthand, along with "bofa".

No problem on the TM issue... I'm not planning on going into the banking business. Although I should be concerned that if banking/mortgages keep faltering they may get into the domain business... Bank of America has a great three letter domain they could monetize to get their domain business started, great type in traffic from what I'm told.

I like DomainBoa - to me it carries a special "swallow a pig whole and then sleep on it for 6 months" vibe ...

seriously, it's cool. Also might gel okay as DomainBOA with B - O - A == Bid - Offer - Appraisal ...

DomainBoa as predatory reptile works best IMO !

Thanks for the input… I have narrowed it down to Boadomains and DomainBoa Will obviously keep both should people get confused on the name when recalling it from memory. I have updated my DNF name and avatar accordingly.

I’ll pick the name on Monday and start development. So a vote or advice on setting up a site for premium domains would be appreciated. Even if the advice is don’t set up a site to sell domains.

Go for it domain boa ! What could possibly go wrong ?

(btw, I think constricters are very cool critters. One day a couple of years ago my daughters came back from school with a 3-foot long young royal python - "it followed us home from school dad can we keep it ?!" - (that was a long story but turns out they had decided to adopt it from its previous owner ...)

I think more heed should be paid to this post. If I were going to spend a lot of time and money building a business, I would invest a few hundred bucks in getting the TM for boadomains first. At least then you've got a presumptive right to use the name, although BofA could still challenge it.

I guess the best thing to do would be to apply for the TM, and send a letter off to BofA legal, certified return receipt requested, letting them know that you don't intend the domain to infringe on their rights. Last I heard they were moving from NC to NYC. You should hear pretty quick whether they intend to challenge it.

I think it's a pretty cool name. As for the emails, I would get both..Only use them for different purposes. name@xxx would be good for dealing with people one on one. sales@xxx would be good for dealing with exactly what the name says, sales. You should have sales@xxx for your whois info no doubt..
