Hi guys
I got an email from GoDaddy saying:

Per your request, the items listed below have been cancelled from your account, xxxxxxx:
.ORG Domain Name Registration - 1 Year: MACMINI.ORG

This made me jump as I certainly hadn't cancelled any registrations and feared for the security of my account.

At the time the whois read:

Domain ID: D105555492-LROR
Domain Name:MACMINI.ORG

Sponsoring Registrar:GoDaddy.com, Inc. (R91-LROR)

etc..

On calling them it seems this one may have slipped through the net and expired, although I'm surprised as I renewed the ones with a close expiry date a few weeks ago. Even then, with a renewal date of 11 Jan it seems quite soon for the name to be deleting?

In any case the domain now seems to be in someone elses name. Just wanted to check with you guys if that seems above board if the name did indeed expire?

Many thanks,
Francis

Hello Francis,

It looks like this one did expire and went to someone else either through tdnam.com auction or through the godaddy backorder service. i.e. it don't go through the previous/standard deletion cycle, but was kept "in house".

Godaddy give you a chance to get it back after it has been won at auction and before it passes to the new owner, but this is only about a week now, I believe. Once the WHOIS is showing the new owner, I think you have missed your chance.
