ahh okay, I see they changed it.. It used to allow you to see the real bids (IE- they were A LOT lower than the ones shown on the main page). Sometimes you'd see bids over $100k on the main page only to see the real bid is $300

Anyway, try to place a bid for Introduction.. Don't actually bid, (lol), but just get to the point of bidding so you can see the real bid price.

I noticed there are many good ones, like bookwriting.org, or feministbookstore.com, officialrecord.com, slurs.com, theatrenews.com, etc. still without bids. But, then, if there are 5000 names and only 75 bids so far, that's only 1 1/2% of total names for sale that have been bid on.

I wonder if there will be last minute bidding? I can't find what time it ends. Does anyone know?

I could *swear* cruise.net was on the list earlier today for nearly 60k but that bid must have been retracted because it isn't there any more and back in zero bid inventory. Introduction.com is also back to zero bids and back in inventory as well.

Debbie.net at $4810 now the highest. 17 hours to go. I wonder if there will be a rush in the last hour tomorrow?

Bell, you obviously don't know how their extended auctions work.

The bottomline is, most of the bids you see are bogus and they were never bid upon "during" the extended auction.

This is because snapnames keeps the bids throughout all of history on snapnames.

If someone put a bid of $60,000 for cruise.net in the year 2001, it would show up in this extended auction.. The reason you saw introduction and cruise.net retracted is because they were bids from eons ago from people hoping they would drop- and who knows where those people are now... And let's not forget that there was major pumping going on at snapnames at one time.. In other words, these extended auctions at snapnames need a major overhaul.

Oh, I know how they work and how they carry over.

But these weren't original bids that were present during initial extended bidding. They showed up on day 2 and disappeared by day 6.

Were they accidental, or was someone trying to bring names to the forefront to gain attention?

Agreed about the overhaul. I never knew how much I'd miss the old Moniker format.

If the auction ends with 2% of the names getting bids, that's still only a 1 in 50 chance that it will be one of mine. Powerball pays better.

yeah, they need to restructure their system. Because most of the bids are carry overs from years ago. Most of which are from people who are in a totally different predicament today, have no interest in the name currently. And of course the BS bids that took place way back when.

And it doesn't matter if the bid was placed on day 2 or 3.. I;ve had domains there with $50k+ bids that showed up a couple days after the auction started- only to find out the bids were placed 5 years ago when speaking to them. hehe

Those are all legitimate bids. We changed the system and eliminated anything that was technically a back order as opposed to a real bid.
