Hi Everyone

I have just about finished developing http://www.highrez.com which is all controlled via PHP with user uploads, comments, ratings and lots more.

I've spent many hours and quite a chunk of cash developing it.

You can look around more with these access details:

User: demo
Pass: demo

Included with easy to use admin panel !

This site has great potential. Comes with all design, domain and fireworks PNG's

What do you think its worth ?

Thanks

Steve

I thought my honesty would be helpful
but I just get insulted
I'm making less and less posts because of that fact
It's not like I have nothing better to do

My site is just the minimum to pass a web design course i'm enrolled in at uni, I had a bit of fun making the navigation, but that's all, nothing more, and i'm sure i'll get top marks for it

i like the concept!

Thanks

don't like the color scheme, or that the layout only covers half my screen, and the top navigation would be more appealing if it had a roll-over effect or was in html.

I personally and my beta testers rated the colour scheme very highly ( personal tastes )

The layout is made so that 800x600 users get a nice look as well.

The top navigation is very special if you login you can see why. It has rollovers as well.

I know it has potential but I cannot develop it unfortunatly ( curses )

I will check your site when launched. And I will be honest

Thanks

Steve

Just visited your website at http://tripstar.biz. No wonder you don't like highrez.com's color scheme. LOL! :D Actually it's AvGuy's site which actually HAS a color scheme; but I agree that it's personal preference. (Sounds like we are arguing about sexual orientation and lifestyles.)

Moreover, it's still the rule of thumbs to design your pages for 800 pixels, until the day comes when like the majority of ordinary folks (not just web designers and technical guys) are using 1024 pixels by default. It is better for people to have websites squeezed to the left or center than to ask those with a small screen to scroll not just vertically but also horizontally. Just look to the big guys.

Just to elaborate more on the HighRez.com system:

Visitor Registers - Admin gets Notified Via Email

Visitor Uploads Image - Admin Gets Notified Via Email with Link to image and is able to edit and review it if it is suitable

HighRez.com Automatically resizes image for thumbnail view

Upon Admin review User receives email saying if the image upload has been accepted.

Other members can comment on image, rate, download, add to their personal album, contact author.

Upon every comment for image author gets emailed automatically via HighRez.com saying their has been a comment posted

Top Rankings Page based on Downloads, Views and more

All Members get a personal profile where other members can view which holds: name, email, last action, amount of uploads icq and more

Image of the day is automatically updated for the top image per 24 hours either by votes downloads etc etc which can be configured easily by the admin.

Members can be easily emailed for newsletters by the highly advanced admin system !

HighRez.com can be made into a pay per image or a pay once for view and downloads site quite easily by me if wanted.

HighRez can be easily edited, updated or totally re-designed via HTML templates.

And lots more stuff but i cant remember at this time

NOTE: A lot of this can be easily modifed e.g admin reviews etc

Any ideas on what this is worth I really need to know Im getting quite a few offers but I havn't got a clue !

Thanks loads

Steve

Nice work Steve. Excellent resource for webmasters. Shouldn't be hard to build up a memberbase. Little "sweat equity" in marketing should do it... Could also have a graphics "for sale" section for revenue generation down the road. The value will go up as the memberbase increases. Nice work.

I think selling offering the cd for sale whilst allowing free download of images would be a good idea - the free image download will help you attract the traffic in the first place, whilst serious users will be happy to pay a fee for a good collection of images.

I also think you'd be able to sell the site for considerably more once its live, with traffic, and more photos added. Considering the work you've done on it so far, unless you get a good offer now, I'd recommend holding on and developing it.

Overall though, the key to success for a site like this is the quantity and quality of photographs. Here are my thoughts on how to attract submissions:

Give each contributor a detailed page with information about them, and what their prices etc are for freelance work - and possibly the option of selling higher resolution copies of their work for offline publication.

Offer contributors who upload above a certain number of images a free personal portfolio-type website - something like a cut-down version of the high-res site, where they can show off their work including non-free images. A simple gallery-type script could be set up to run each of these, and it wouldn't cost much in resources or time to maintain it. Each site could include a link back to the highres site, helping your search engine rankings.

Find some amateur photography discussion forums to promote your site in - you might find quite a few people with quality photographs eager for an opportunity to get some online exposure.

Just my 2 cents,

Good Luck,

Sam :)

They are some great ideas thanks a lot especially

At the moment its a basic portfolio e.g name, email etc but I can and will change this !!!! More exposure for members lovely !

This is also a great idea as well but it will take some time to get a system running but I will do this if i can

Your post has made feel feel like keeping the domain and you have given me a path to follow which I think should work very well

Your A Star !!!!!

Thanks
