Not sure how to word this question - however

-What is the difference between ALEXA or OVERTURE?
-difference in US overture and CDN overture when checking on a .CA domain?
-what is a great ALEXA/OVERTURE number (over 5mil)
-is a link popularity of 250 considered good fior Altavista?
-how would I check the Google link popularity

any info appreciated

I think Alexa data comes from tracking people who installed its toolbar and Overture tallies the searches on Yahoo - it was always my impression that Overture lumped English Canada with US in their results. Not sure what would constitute a good number though, especially from a ca perspective.

Alexa measures TRAFFIC to a site based on info supplied through users of it's toolbar.
Overture measures SEARCHES made for keyword/keyword phrases through the Yahoo/Overture group of search engines.
The higher the Overture # the better - the lower the Alexa rating the better.

Depends more on the quality of the links than the number. If 249 of those links are from within the same site ... it's not very good. If they are all from good quality/good PR/high traffic/trusted sites then it's good.

Search Google with "link:www.sitename.ca" (without quotes). But Google doesn't report all backlinks these days. A better indication would be to search your website name within quotes, like "www.sitename.ca" (with quotes)
